My name is Poppy. I am just about to turn 23 and am almost finished with my Masters in Creative Writing. I am based just outside of London and my favourite things are reading, writing and film.

Coming up to this point in my life, I find the prospect of the future to be more than a little scary. Terrifying headlines, the thought of moving out, the words ‘job market’, it all seems kind of awful and scary. But it doesn’t have to be. Life is not all about news and rent and jobs. I want Glass Beads to be a space for community and creation. I want people to put their all into their art, and I’ll put my all into this.

Glass Beads publishes themed monthly issues, comprised of works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and art of many mediums.

Themes are announced on the 1st of each month.

I want you to submit the work you feel is truest to yourself. Not what you think you should be making based on trends or what people on Instagram or Substack or BookTok are posting. I want to see you, know you, through your art
